15 Tips on How to Improve Your Marriage

1.      Make Mass on Sunday and Jesus Christ THE priority in your marriage.

2.      Be honest.  Be patient.  Communicate clearly with each other.

3.      Share and support one another's goals and achievements.

4.      On a regular basis, take time to share what happened in each person's day.

5.      Laugh together at least once a day.  Communicate more by turning off the TV and play a board game!

6.      In disagreements, respectfully listen and communicate with each other. Never fight in front of the children! The greatest gift you can give your children is a healthy marriage between you and your spouse!

7.      Be willing to forgive and be willing to admit when you are wrong.  Being right all the time is not important, peace in the relationship is!

8.      Remember: What is important to the other... is important to me.

9.      Make decisions about finances, disciplining the children, chores, vacations, etc., together.

10. Take time to be alone together working on your intimacy.  Schedule dates or romantic getaways at least once a month for just the two of you!

11. Ask yourself at the end of the day, "What did I do to strengthen my marriage today?" "How could I have loved my spouse more faithfully?

12. If you want your relationship to last a life time, make marriage the top goal for your life!

13. Plan a time to come to Eucharistic Adoration!  Join a Bible Study or learn about your Catholic faith together - read the same book.

14. Give 10 affirmations or compliments for every 1 negative criticism.

15. Come together to read and reflect upon the daily Scripture readings.
