Confirmation is a two year sacramental preparation. High school students wishing to be confirmed must be active in their youth group one year prior to receiving the Sacrament. For students attending a Catholic high school, their attendance at the Catholic high school is sufficient to meet the requirement of the proximate year (i.e. year 1 of sacramental preparation).

During preparation year, there will be an orientation, 6 sessions, a retreat, and a rehearsal. The date of the Rite is to be determined.

What to expect through the Year

As a Confirmation candidate this year, your teen can expect many powerful and life changing experiences.

During the course of the year, teens are expected to serve in the parish community, attend Sunday Mass every weekend, identify an adult sponsor/mentor to walk with them in their faith journey, and attend all Sessions. During these gatherings, the Confirmandi are exposed to the teachings and beliefs of the Catholic faith. Here, they will discuss and explore what it means to be a Catholic and how to live their lives in a world that thrives on moral relativism.
