Transition Newsletter, Issue No. 11

Father Gary Lazzeroni has announced a series of "Listening Sessions" for all parishioners. Stay tuned for the next Listening Session dates and times!

If you would like to provide Fr. Gary with your input via the web, you can participate in a virtual listening session by clicking on this link.

The sessions on August 7 and 17 were well attended and the discussions were extremely beneficial to Fr. Gary and to everyone who attended.

These Listening Sessions are an important part of our Transition process. Fr. Gary has emphasized that there will be no major changes during his first year here. He needs this time to get to know us, our history, what we value, what we hope for.

Fr. Gary is also in getting some feedback from us on how things are going so far.

How meetings will be conducted:
- Fr. Gary will facilitate the meeting.
- Participants will work in small groups and a recorder will write down the responses of each participant to these questions:
1. What has been your best experience in the parish?
2. What are the parish's strengths and weaknesses?
3. What are your hopes for the parish?
- Group reports will be given to Fr. Gary to incorporate into the summary.
- All of this information will be carefully evaluated and considered.

Other Ways to Get Involved

PRAYER FOR TRANSITION

O faithful God, as your people of St. Joseph Parish, we cherish our memories and our history as a sacred gift. We ask you to guide us in our time of transition. We need your wisdom that we might be receptive to change, conversion, and growth.

We need your grace to redirect our hearts that we may be willing to offer ourselves in joyful service.

Do not allow fear, ignorance, or pride to limit the work of your Holy Spirit, nor custom to prevent the creativity within us from bearing fruit.

Open our hearts to the call of the Gospel. Give us courage and renewed hope so that we might meet the challenge of being the Church you have called us to be.

We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord. Amen.
