Covid-19 Guidelines at St. Joseph
To maintain current safety standards for public spaces in our community, we now require that everyone wear a mask indoors, including Mass and common spaces. Thank you for understanding this necessary precaution we are taking to protect the common good.  For now, we are also suspending congregational singing at Mass.

World Mission Sunday

On October 17 we will celebrate World Mission Sunday. Pope Francis invites the entire Church to support mission dioceses in Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Latin America and Europe, where priests, religious and lay leaders serve the world’s most vulnerable communities. Please keep the Pope’s missions in your prayers and be generous in next week’s collection for the Society for the Propagation of the Faith.

Winter Hospitality Overflow

Save the Date for St. Andrew Lutheran Church’s 19th Season of the Winter Hospitality Overflow (WHO) Shelter Program!
St. Joseph has signed up for the second week of November, from Sunday, November 7 through Saturday, November 13, for our parishioners to help with (3) early morning shifts from 7-9 am and (4) evening shifts from 6-10 pm. SHARE protocol requires that all volunteers must provide proof of vaccination and wear masks. Click on this link to sign up.  There will be another link soon for those who cannot serve in person but want to contribute by providing healthy meals. Want to be included in our WHO volunteer email list to receive information updates? Send an email to Deborah at deborahg@stjoevan.org and let her know!

One Parish One Prisoner (OPOP)

Launched by Underground Ministries in Northwest Washington, this program pairs churches with incarcerated individuals preparing to be released back into their community. St. Joseph is in the preliminary stages of signing up to participate in this ministry. An information night will be held on Tuesday, October 19 at 7:00 pm. Interested? See the flyer here to learn more. As Thomas Merton once said, "It's the reality of personal relationships that saves everything."
